Two new games from tri-Ace and Square Enix have been unveiled this week. Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria will be released in Japan at an unknown point in 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and will be a sequel to the PSOne title, Valkyrie Profile.

The second title revealed is titled Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and will be released in Japan on March 2, 2006 for the PlayStation Portable and will be a remake of the original PSOne title. The game will include extra scenes and movies that will tie these two titles together, creating a fluid connection between original and sequel.

When Lenneth releases next year, it will cost Japanese gamers 5040 yen (approximately $42 USD) and will be playable in 16:9 widescreen format. Square Enix has announced that it will open the official site on December 12, and that new details will be released shortly thereafter.

Update: Adrienne Beck, RPGamer's translator, has unearthed more information about Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria. Taking place several hundred years before Valkyrie Profile, this title will follow the story of the valkyrie Silmeria, the younger sister of Lenneth. Silmeria does something to anger Odin, and in punishment Odin forces her to be reborn as a human. That human is a young girl named Alisha, who also happens to be the first Queen of Divan. Square Enix intends to show this game off at next week's Jump Festa in Japan.
