Namco has released new details regarding their upcoming RPG Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 3. Character and story information, as well as details concerning the battle system have all been revealed to the general public.

Julio and Carol are admirers of the fabled heroes of these legends, and their excitment is only heightened because of a great earthquake. A time-ship, an ancient relic, is unearthed during the tremor, and is later restored into working order by a doctor by the name of Professor Brown. Disaster strikes as Julio re-reads the legends, only to find out the heroes of lore never complete their epic journeys, and thus the world was destroyed. Julio must travel in time to fix the events of the past.

The battle system is a variation of the job system. By wearing costumes, made from acquired "Roots," you gain the abilities and skills of the worn garment. Improvements and costume creating for the various jobs can be done at the Narikiri Shop.

The party system has also been tweaked for this installment. Instead of a party consisting of four characters in one fight, you can use up to four teams of three characters, for a total of twelve characters in any given battle. The battles themselves are done in turn-based fashion. When selecting a team to move, a line of dots appear in different colors. Some designate locations where you can go, while others provide a longer route due to obstacles in the way. If your team runs into an enemy, a battle will ensue.

Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 3 is going to be released for the Gameboy Advance system. A release date has not been set.
