Blizzard Entertainment Releases Diablo II Patch

Today, Blizzard Entertainment announced on its website the release of a new patch for Diablo II. The patch brings the game up to version 1.10, and is the largest to date in terms of changes and new features added. Included is a new feature which allow characters to compete on a ladder, more challenging gameplay, enhanced skills, new items, new anti-cheat measures, a new and extremely challenging game-world event for players of Hardcore characters, and much more.

Currently the patch can only be downloaded via Battle.net, but Blizzard has said a standalone version will be available on its FTP site as soon as it becomes so. Specific changes in the Diablo II 1.10 patch can be found here.
