Square Enix Revamps Final Fantasy XI Website

With the launch of the North American version of Final Fantasy XI just around the corner, Square Enix has overhauled its official FFXI website, giving it a fresh look and some new content. Entitled "Vana'diel Journal," the website offers plenty of interesting features for prospective players to explore.

While much of the information, such as races and job descriptions, was transferred from the old site, Square Enix has added several interactive features, including a streaming live shot of Vana'diel, a trial run of the character creation system, and a benchmark program that helps visitors determine whether their computer is capable of running the game. The website promises that more content will be added later, such as the "Vana'diel Tribune" and a new screenshot gallery.

Final Fantasy XI will ship to North American stores on October 28. The PlayStation 2 version will be available in March 2004.
