According to Quiter, a Japanese website, Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase is considering creating a sequel to the incredibly popular and much-loved Final Fantasy VII. Kitase hopes to continue the story of Final Fantasy VII, and many other staff members are inclined to agree, including Tetsuya Nomura, the character designer for the later additions to the series.

However, Kitase indicated that they did not want to let down scores of impassioned fans with a sub-par sequel. With this in mind, the team has hesitated to make any definite plans for the game.
