Future of Shenmue in Hands of Fans

Shin Ishikawa, president of Sega-AM2, recently sat down for an interview with the Yomiuri Shinbun, a Japanese newspaper. In this interview, Ishikawa revealed that the future of the Shenmue series, specifically Shenmue III, hinges on the sales figures for newly-released Shenmue II for the Xbox.

In other words, fans who hope to keep their beloved Shenmue series alive must show their support for Sega. This means translating their loyalty and appreciation into cold cash. There is, however, no word as to whether the Shenmue series will remain faithful to the Xbox or move on to another console.
