Square is nearly ready to give gamers a chance to discover information about its latest installment in the Final Fantasy series at its PlayOnline address. Although not officially open, Final Fantasy X details and media can still be accessed via this link.

Available on-site are character bios, maps, place descriptions, a battle system explanation and a listing of a few of the game's features, including English voice samples. Due out in January of 2002 in North America at the latest--with speculation regarding a possible December release--Final Fantasy X serves as Square's first role-playing adventure to be released on the PlayStation 2, becoming an important member of a growing role-playing library.
