The PlayStation 2 has had a great deal of RPG announcements for the past few weeks. Nippon Ichi Software adds to that number with the upcoming release of Angel's Present: Marl Kingdom Story. This game features a unique party organization system, allowing for four separate groups of characters able to participate in battles. Furthermore, puppets, humans, dolls, and monsters can join the battles.
This game borrows a bit from games like Chrono Trigger in that each character is aligned with an element. Eight elements appear in all, ranging from the usual Flame and Water to the unusual Nothing. The power of these elements can be increased during battles with Union Techniques, where two or more characters join their elements together for a combination attack. Angel's Present: Marl Kingdom Story is scheduled to be released in Japan on December 21, 2000 for 6800 Yen.
