More information on the upcoming Mobile Adapter-enhanced Pokémon game, Pokémon Crystal, has been found. A youth named Minaki will be associated with one of the Sacred Pokémon in the game, and the secret of the Pokémon Unknowns will be revealed. In addition, the player will be able to choose whether to play as a male or female character, a move that is becoming more and more common in videogames. Depending on which character is chosen, the game will have a different color scheme for the backpack, the menus, and the Pokégear.

Pokémon Crystal, the newest game in the best-selling Pokémon series, will utilize the Mobile Adapter to communicate with other players over cellular phones. As previously reported, the Game Boy Color game will be released in Japan on December 14 for about 3800 yen. However, the mobile adapter will not be released until January 2001. No details on a North American release of the game are available yet.
