Divinity: Original Sin II

Belgian developer Larian Studios is turning its upcoming Kickstarter-funded sequel, Divinity: Original Sin II, into a conversation topic among RPGamers. Taking center-stage is the news that the game will indeed be fully voiced by a cast of around eighty actors. A roster for some of the more prominent speaking roles includes familiar voice talent from such games as the Dragon Age and Assassin's Creed series, the Warhammer 40K universe, as well as the original Divinity: Original Sin. The game will include the following voice-over actors:

  • Harry Hadden-Paton as the Red Prince, a haughty but heroic lizard noble exiled from his own empire.
  • Alix Wilton Regan as Sebille, an elven assassin seeking vengeance against the Master who once enslaved her.
  • Tamaryn Payne as Lohse, a star musician possessed by an unwelcome — and powerful — visitor.
  • Chris Finney as Ifan ben-Mezd, a mercenary ex-soldier on the run from a haunted past.
  • Alec Newman as Beast, a rebel-turned-pirate who must save his people from their reckless and tyrannical queen.
  • Christopher Bonwell as the undead whose origin story will soon be revealed.

Along with this information, a duo of videos, both viewable below, also saw the light of day. One is a trailer for the game, detailing its combat engine, character origin scenarios, and co-op gameplay features. The other is a lengthy Kickstarter video update, which goes into great detail about the game's full orchestral soundtrack, including behind-the-scenes footage of the live recording sessions in Budapest.

Divinity: Original Sin II is set to come to PC via Steam on September 14, 2017, and will be priced at $44.99. Act 1 of the game is available now via Steam Early Access as well. Additionally, a Collector's Edition of the game is teased at the end of the Kickstarter update video, though what exactly it entails has not yet been revealed.
