Irish developer Timeslip Softworks has begun a Kickstarter campaign for its turn-based tactical RPG, Vigilantes. The crime-themed title is currently in development for PC, Mac, and Linux with an initial planned release date of around the middle of 2017.

Vigilantes stars Sam Contino, an idealistic man who gets dragged into the seedy underbelly of Reiker City. As a vigilante, he attempts to take down the three main gangs plaguing the city: the mafia, the survivalists, and the Church of the Final Exodus.

The game features a character system named UPLIFT after its six core attributes: Utility, Prowess, Leadership, Instinct, Fleetness, and Toughness. It also feature nine different skills, with characters levelling up based on their usage of these skills rather than through traditional experience points.

Sam Contino will not be alone in his quest, as players can recruit various others to join him in cleaning up the streets. Players will also be able to purchase, find, or craft new equipment to give them an edge in combat.

Timeslip Softworks is looking for €5,000 in funding for the game, with the campaign set to end on November 6, 2016. Those who pledge at least €10 will receive a copy of Vigilantes as part of their backer rewards (with a limited number of €8 tiers also available at the time of writing). Those interested can try out an alpha build of the game through Indie DB.
