Following the announcement of its December 15, 2016, release date in Japan, Square Enix showed off some new screenshots and a new extended trailer, as well as holding a stage event, for SaGa Scarlet Grace. The stage event featured around half an hour of gameplay footage, which begins at around the 23 minute mark in the lower video.

Square Enix also revealed some new details about the game. Combat will keep the high-strategy turn-based character of the SaGa series with formations, turn-order, and sparks all playing key roles. Players will be able to select one of four protagonists — the noble Urpina, the farmer Leonard, the ceramic artist Taria, and the executioner Balmaint — and the story will signifcantly change depending on which character is chosen. Players will begin with over six allies (with an active party size of five) and be able to recruit other characters met during the game.

SaGa Scarlet Grace is being developed for PlayStation Vita and, as mentioned above, is set for release in Japan on December 15, 2016. There is no news regarding a western release at this time.
