Developer Deck13 Interactive released a new video for this week's Gamescom trade fair in Cologne, focusing on its upcoming sci-fi action RPG The Surge. The fourteen-minute gameplay demonstration, narrated by Creative Director Jan Klose, focuses on the game's combat and its crafting and equipment mechanics.

The Surge takes place in a dystopian future where the world's climate is on the brink of destruction and mega-corporations use robotics to try and preserve what is left of it. Players are tasked with investigating an incident that occured in a CREO facility, doing so while piloting an exo-suit. The game is planned for release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime in 2017.
