Airship Syndicate is a new developer formed by founders of Darksiders and Darksiders II creator Vigil Games, including comic book creator Joe Madureira. The company is creating a new title based on Joe Madureira's fantasy comic book series Battle Chasers called Battle Chasers: Nightwar, and is looking to fund the game through Kickstarter.

The game is said to be inspired by many classic JRPG titles and features a two-tiered mana system and turn-based initiative order, including buffs and debuffs in certain initiative slots. Random encounters appear on the overworld map, which also hosts hidden dungeons and rare bosses.

Inside the randomly-generated dungeons, monsters are visible on the map with combat starting if they are touched. Dungeons also play host to various traps, NPCs, puzzles, and treasure. Once players complete a dungeon they have the opportunity to return to it at a higher difficulty level. A higher difficulty increases the potential rewards, with rare artifacts and NPCs appearing on higher difficulty levels. Should players die in a dungeon then they will lose everything not equipped on their characters, however, once per dungeon players will arrive at a rest point where they can safely stash items and replenish resources.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is set on the Lost Continent. One of the main features of the Lost Continent is a wall of mist spreading from north to south over its West Waters, known as the Grey Line. A legendary hero named Aramus went on a mission through the Grey Line but, like many others, never returned. His daughter Gully and her party decide to enter the mist to uncover Aramus' mission.

Airship Syndicate is looking for $500k of funding by October 10, 2015, and is at nearly $400k at the time of writing. Those wishing to receive a copy of the game as part of their backer rewards can do so by pledging at least $30. More details about the game can be read on its Kickstarter page.
