Nintendo has announced that Inazuma Eleven 3 will be released on 3DS in Europe on September 27, 2013. Similar to the previous game in the series, Level-5's football RPG will be released in two versions, Inazuma Eleven 3: Lightning Bolt and Inazuma Eleven 3: Bomb Blast, with each version focusing on a different rival character in certain parts of the story.

The game follows on from the events in Inazuma Eleven 2 and sees players taking part in the Frontier International Championships. New features for this game include special tactical plays involving the full team, a way of stringing together multiple special moves, and a capsule vending machine method of scouting for new players.
