Sega has announced today that the free-to-play sequel to the original Phantasy Star Online will be coming to both Europe and America next year. Phantasy Star Online 2 will be released for PC in March 2013, but have not commented on the upcoming Vita version, being released in Japan in early 2013.

Phantasy Star Online 2 follows the intergalactic exploration fleet Oracle, with the players joining the "Arks", groups of Humans, Newmen and CASTs established to explore new planets. Sega has launched an official site that can be found here, and has also provided a teaser trailer.
