Hothead Games has announced that its next installment of the popular Deathspank series, The Baconing, has a release date for PlayStation Network. PlayStation 3 users will be able to download The Baconing on August 30 as a part of Sony's PSN PLAY promotion, running until September 19.

Those who order The Baconing on PSN before August 25 will receive a static PS3 theme. Players will also receive an extra companion by the name of Roesha: One Bad Mutha. PS Plus users will also receive 20% off their purchase, as well as any of the other PLAY titles within the promotion. The current status as to when the PC, Mac and Xbox 360 versions are set to release is unknown at this time.
