CD Projekt RED has announced that the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings is being delayed to Q1 2012. The game was originally set to release at the end of the year.
According to CD Projekt RED the platform change is the reason for the delay, as the company is attempting to make significant improvements to the console version. This delay will allow the company to implement its improvements to make it more of an enhanced version rather than a straight console port. CD Projekt RED is also hoping to improve and polish The Witcher 2's gameplay. The second reason for the delay also comes from the current legal battle with Namco Bandai concerning the European release for the Xbox 360 version.
Those attending Gamescom 2011 will have the chance to try out the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, while console gamers everywhere will have to wait until next year to have a chance to play the game. The Witcher 2 is currently avaliable for PC for $49.99.
