At San Diego Comic-Con 2011 last weekend, Todd McFarlane gave an updated release window for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning at a panel for the game. He told attendees that the game is scheduled for release some time in February 2012, unless EA Games says otherwise. Kingdoms of Amalur was originally slated for a fall 2011 release.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is being developed by 38 Studios and published by EA Games. It is the first game announced by former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling's studio, with Ken Rolston, head designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, acting as the executive designer for the game. Fantasy author R.A. Salvatore is creating the game universe and lore while Todd McFarlane is doing the art. It will be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
