With the November release date for DC Universe Online apporaching, developers Sony Online Entertainment have opened sign-ups for beta testing for both PC and PlayStation 3 users. While comic book fans have had the PC-based MMOs City of Heroes and Champions Online to punch villains around in, DC Universe Online is the first MMO that allows PlayStation 3 users the same luxury.

A collectors edition, containing a statue of Batman, an art book, and a limited edition comic has been announced, but so far, only for the PC version of the game. Those who do decide to pre-order will be given access to play as Batman in the game's 2v2 arenas, and several retailers are offering bonus in-game items. DC Universe Online is set to release on the 2nd of November 2010.
