Details about a Dragon Age: Origins collector's edition have recently been revealed to the world. Dragon Age: Origins is BioWare's upcoming Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 RPG often labeled as a spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate series.
The collector's edition discs, which will include a bonus DVD with a making of documentary, soundtrack, trailers, wallpaper, concept art video, and strategy tips will be guarded by a special tin case. Also in the box will be an old-school cloth map of the game world. Exclusive in-game collector's edition bonuses will include three items: Bergen’s Honor, a massive helmet made out of dragonbone (+2 to armor, +25 physical resistance, +6 to attack), the Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes, a special book that adds +3 to all attributes when read, and Final Reason, a magical staff of immense power (adds to damage, spell power, and fire damage). A bonus quest called "The Stone Prisoner" will also be available only in the collector's editon, along with an unlockable character named Shale.
Similar to how an unlockable item for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning was provided in Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, the Dragon Age: Origins collector's edition will include an exclusive item for Mass Effect 2, another upcoming BioWare title. The Dragon Age: Origins collector's edition will be priced at $64.99 for the PC, and at $74.99 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
