Bethesda Softworks is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Elder Scrolls series in a big way. The company has decided to release The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall as a free download for all.

The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall is a PC game that takes place in a massive world, similar to the more recent The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, though the game was released back in August 1996. Players have the choice to play as multiple types of characters with varying abilities, and the game has six endings.

Bethesda is releasing Daggerfall "as is," meaning that it will not be providing support or guaranteeing its compatibility with all computers. Bethesda recommends using the DOSBox emulator to play the game. A detailed walkthrough for the process can be found here. To download the game, visit Bethesda's download page.
