Today, Square Enix opened up a new website to kick off the release fans everywhere have been asking for. While the site itself says very little, what it means speaks volumes.
The site is a single page, showing the Nintendo DS logo and the clock that is signature to the Chrono Trigger game. More information promises to be available in an announcement scheduled for July 7.
Chrono Trigger was originally released on September 27, 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The PlayStation enjoyed a port, released in North America as part of Final Fantasy Chronicles, along with Final Fantasy IV, but was plagued with technical issues. While in the past the company has been unable to commit to a future Chrono title, it's all but assured a remake will be making its way to a handheld soon.
