Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XI for the PC will be released in Europe on September 16. Both of the game's expansion packs--Rise of the Zilart and the upcoming Chains of Promathia--will be included in the release, which will span seven CD-ROMs. The launch coincides with both the Japanese and North American releases of Chains of Promathia, allowing the entire game to be played by a worldwide audience for the first time.
The game will retail for around 50 Euros, with a free 30-day trial. Afterwards, players will be charged a fee of $12.95 (USD) per month, and can create up to fifteen additional characters at a rate of $1.00 per character per month.
