Rhapsody of Zephyr Rescued From Obscurity

Nihon Falcom, having just squeezed out Ys I & II Eternal Story, is now turning its attention to working on a PlayStation 2 port of the old PC (and, somewhat later, Dreamcast) title Rhapsody of Zephyr. The game, dubbed a simulation RPG, features anime-style art and turn-based battles. The story follows a struggle between an empire and the resistance trying to overthrow its hold on power.

Rhapsody of Zephyr was a cult favorite in Korea, which made it an easy decision for Nihon Falcom to bring the game to Japan in Dreamcast form. Lamentably, neither the original PC version of the title nor the subsequent Dreamcast version made it to North America, a situation that seems unlikely to change now. Nihon Falcom is plotting an early 2004 release for the PlayStation 2 conversion, but has yet to provide pricing details.
