Mystery Wrapped in an Enigma Uncovered at Online Store

The recently released Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind may soon have a PlayStation 2 sibling. While nothing has been confirmed by the game's developer, Bethesda Softworks, online retailer GameStop is listing Elder Scrolls Adventures for pre-order on its site. Whether the game will be a true sequel or a different game entirely is uncertain at this point. Additionally, according to RPGFan, a Bethesda representative has stated that "Morrowind is not being developed for PS2. PC and Xbox only."

How relevant this statement is remains to be seen; that Morrowind is in development for the PS2 is not in question, since Elder Scrolls Adventures is likely an entirely different title. Regardless, fans of the series will have to wait awhile for the game to come out, if it does; Elder Scrolls Adventures is currently listed at an estimated date of February 17, 2003. Expect RPGamer to provide further information about this title as it becomes available.
