Golden Sun: The Lost Age Storms Out of the Gate

The second installment in Nintendo's hit GBA series, Golden Sun, is selling like hotcakes in Japan. According to official estimates by MediaWorks, 107,289 copies of the game were sold in its first week of release. Golden Sun : The Lost Age fills in some of the story of the original game, in which four children, using the power of Psynergy, must solve the riddle of the ancient lighthouses that hold the key to power in their land. In a departure from the original title, however, players will now assume the roles of three supporting characters from the first game.

Golden Sun 2's success in Japan will likely be mirrored by strong sales in North America, if its prequel is any indication. The game is set for release here late in 2002.
