A couple weeks ago, Koei decided that the advertising campaign for Saiyuki: Journey West wasn't yet up to scratch, and that the release of the game should be pushed back a bit. That grace period has come to an end, and Saiyuki: Journey West should be in stores across North America right now.

Based on a classic Chinese novel, Saiyuki: Journey West tells the tale of a young monk names Sanzo, and recounts his/her travails en route to India. With a tactical turn-based battle system, which includes lycanthropic transformation abilities, and a solid storyline, the game promises to be a worthwhile addition to the already-expansive PlayStation tactical RPG library.
