GBC Lufia Release Date Announced
Lufia: The Legend Returns

Neverland's Lufia franchise has been around for eight years now, yet there have only been two games in the fan-favorite series. The first installment was published by Taito for the Super Nintendo in 1993, followed the next year by the Natsume-published sequel, Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, also for the SNES. So, it was with great joy that fans learned that Neverland would be returning to the land of Lufia with Lufia: The Legend Returns; this time, however, for the Game Boy Color.

The franchise is characterized by its continuous story line, and as such, fans will be happy to hear that the current development team is comprised of members of the development team of the SNES sequel. Can the story and ambiance be successfully continued in a hand-held format? We'll find out soon enough, as RPGamer confirmed with publisher Natsume today that the game will be arriving on North American shores on the 19th of August. Keep an eye out for our full review as the release date approaches, and in the meantime, be sure to check out our Lufia: The Legend Returns page and E3 impressions of the game.
