Pokémon Virus: It was Bound to Happen

Trend Micro, manufacturer of several security/virus related software packages is reporting the development of a Pokémon virus/trojan. Dubbed POKEY.A, Pokey, WIN32/Pikachu.32768.Worm, or I-Worm.Pikachu, the trojan arrives in an email with the Subject "Pikachu Pokemon" and the attachment "Pikachu icon".

Trend Micro has assigned the virus to the low risk category, however, if executed it will make modifications to your autoexec.bat, and will attempt to email itself, ala Melissa. More information, and instructions for removing the virus can be found at Trend Micro.
