Following Kadokawa Games' hints that it was looking at getting the game released in the west, publisher NIS America has announced that it will be publishing Metal Max Xeno in North America and Europe. The game will be released for PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018, with the PlayStation Vita version seemingly set to remain a Japanese-only release.

Prior to the western release confirmation and with the game's Japanese launch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on April 19, 2018 imminent, Kadokawa Games has also released a final Japanese trailer for the game. The three-and-a-half-minute video shows various characters, tanks, enemies, and clips of combat.
