Square Enix has revealed some details and images for Dragon Quest Builders 2, the upcoming sequel to building-focused spin-off RPG Dragon Quest Builders. The player character of Dragon Quest Builders 2, who can be male or female, is a distant descendant of the first game's protagonist, and is just starting on their quest to become a fully-fledged builder.
The game starts with the protagonist being washed ashore on an unpopulated island. This becomes the protagonist's base as he or she creates buildings, with players gathering materials from the island to build them in much the same way as in the previous game. However, there will be a threat to deal with, as Square Enix also revealed that Malroth, a major enemy from Dragon Quest II, will be appearing.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 is being developed for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game does not yet have a release date in Japan, nor has it been announced for a western release.
