Destiny 2

Bungie held a livestream in which it revealed many details for Destiny 2. Alongside the full livestream, which can be viewed here, a new gameplay trailer was also released during the event, along with some details regarding the PC version of the game.

Destiny 2 will take players across the the solar system from planet Earth, to the moons Titan and Io, and the minor centaur planet Nessus, following the fall of the Tower at the hands of Commander Ghaul and his Red Legion. This loss will reset everyone back to square one and everything must be regained over the course of the game. For the game's launch, Bungie will have new strikes, PvP modes, and one new raid.

New classes were also featured: the Dawnblade, a firesword-wielding Warlock; the Sentinel, a shield-wielding Titan; and the Arcstrider, a Hunter with an electric staff. Equipment loadouts will also work a little differently. There will be three weapon slots available, each associated with one of the Kinetic, Energy, or Power damage types.

Some quality of life improvements will also be added to the game. Extra modes, from raids to PvP, can be activated from anywhere in the game world, rather than forcing the character to go to orbit. These activities will also be made public by the new Guided Games system that matches players not in groups or clans with other clans in-game so that endgame material can be made accessible to everyone.

The game's PC version will also break new ground by being the first non-Blizzard title to be available exclusively to Battle.net. While Bungie confirmed that the PC version of Destiny 2 will not release simultaneously with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, it will have other benefits. The PC version will have an uncapped framerate — consoles will be locked to 30 — increased resolution, and 21:9 aspect ratio support.

Destiny 2 releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 8, 2017.
