Indie Update: Seventh Edition
05.05.2017

MANAGING EDITOR

Indie Games

We return with the seventh edition of our series designed to help RPGamer cater to the ever-increasing number of indie titles that our staff regrettably does not have the resources to provide full coverage to. The idea of this column is to quickly pass on the word about certain games to our readers that they might otherwise not be made aware of, and we hope both readers and developers find this useful.

This slightly lighter edition of our indie update column features the following titles: Knights of Galiveth, Alvora Tactics, and Renowned Explorers: The Emperor's Challenge.

Knights of Galiveth

LunarCore Games' sidescrolling action RPG Knights of Galiveth is now out on Steam. The game provides players with eight characters who can be switched between on the fly, each with their own unique abilities. However, the game also features permadeath if any character dies they, and their abilities, are gone forever, potentially forcing players to find an alternative route to their destination. Knights of Galiveth is available for PC and priced at $3.99/£2.79/€3.99.

Alvora Tactics

Rad Codex revealed that it plans to release Alvora Tactics on May 8, 2017. The game will be released initially on itch.io for $9.99, with a release on Steam planned for a later date (it is currently on Greenlight). Alvora Tactics is a fantasy tactical PRG with a customisable party and created by the same developer behind Voidspire Tactics.

Renowned Explorers: The Emperor's Challenge

Abbey Games has announced The Emperor's Challenge, a new expansion to its 19th century strategy adventure RPG Renowned Explorers: International Society. The expansion send players to the far east and introduces four new playable characters: Suh Min-Jeong, Hojo Fumiaki, Wang Yu, and Phailin Boonyasak. The expansion will be released on May 10, 2017.
