Square Enix today revealed that its spinoff action RPG Dragon Quest Builders will be released in October of 2016 in both North America and Europe. The game will be available physically and digitally for PlayStation 4 as well as digitally for PlayStation Vita.

Dragon Quest Builders is a sandbox RPG in a world made up of blocks, similar to Minecraft. Players are able to gather resources and craft various items and buildings. The game takes place in an alternative scenario for the first Dragon Quest title, where the hero did not defeat the evil Dragonlord and the world is plunged into darkness.
