Dragon Quest Heroes II

Publisher Square Enix has released some new information about the Omega-Force-developed Dragon Quest Heroes II, specifically concerning its multiplayer element. Dubbed The Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End, this new chapter in the long-running franchise will take advantage of both Cross-Play and Cross-Save features, meaning players can join in mulitplayer regardless of the platform played on, and save files are transferable between said platforms.

The actual multiplayer will take two forms. Players will be able to summon up to three friends to their party to join them in particularly challenging battles in the game's actual story mode. The summoned players will then replace the usual party members.

A second multiplayer option sees groups of players banding together to take on the Space-Time Labyrinth, a special dungeon accessible only after obtaining the "Labyrinth Map" item in story mode. Once again, up to three friends can join the player in conquering this dungeon, which consists of various enemies from the game, as well as some unique, powerful foes called Space-Time Guardians. Alternately, the Space-Time Labyrinth can also be tackled solo, using only normal party members. As an added bonus, a roster of characters from The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below will be available as free DLC for use exclusively within the Space-Time Labyrinth.

Dragon Quest Heroes II will see the official light of day in Japan on May 27, 2016, and will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. A special multiplayer trailer has also been released to give players a taste of the all-out melee in store for them.
