ALEX FULLER

We have combined all the news into a single large article, though those intestered in specific titles can follow these links below to automatically scroll-down to the relevant section:

God Eater: Resurrection / God Eater 2: Rage Burst

The flood began with the reveal of release dates for God Eater: Resurrection and God Eater 2: Rage Burst, with a new trailer and a bit of gameplay footage also provided. God Eater: Resurrection will be released in North America on June 28, 2016, as a download-only title for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, with its PC release on Steam coming on August 30, 2016. Tales of Berseria

Lastly were new details on Tales of Berseria. Originally planned for release later this year in North America and Europe, the latest mainline Tales game is scheduled for an early 2017 release for PlayStation 4 and PC. Along with the delay news, however, were introductions to newly revealed playable characters Eleanor and Eizen, plus a bit more focus on the game's combat and skits.

Eizen is a long-lived Malak, or spirit, and commander of Aifread's pirates, specifically on the Van Eltia. While searching for Aifread, he meets up with main protagonist Velvet and assists her in her cause for vengeance against their common enemy, the Abbey. In combat, Eizen is able to readily switch between melee punching attacks and long-range artes. Eleanor was previously revealed as a member of said Abbey, but will join the party despite its conflict with Velvet. She is more of a mid-range fighter, using a spear with a long reach and corresponding mid-ranged artes.

With these characters taking the list of playable characters past the in-game limit of four fighting at once, Bandai Namco also detailed the new Switch Blast action. This lets palyers switch the controlled character with one of the backup characters not currently involved. Backup characters start with one Soul more than usual in the Soul Gauge so can be useful if the current character is lacking in Soul. Switch Blast is not without cost, however, as it consumes one part of the blast Gauge used for Mystic Artes when used.

Tales of Berseria's skit system for side conversations follows most of the conventions of previous titles in the series. However, this entry is said to feature a new cut-in effect that allows the developers to show more expression within the skits, with full-screen illustrations also sometimes appearing.
