Nintendo Treehouse Live Round Up - E3

Though announced a few weeks before E3 during a micro-Nintendo Direct, the folks at Treehouse streamed an early part of the Japanese version of Bravely Second: End Layer, which is slated for a western release some time next year. This video shows off an early city, the battle system, and a boss battle with the holder of the new Wizard job.

This next video features Fire Emblem: Fates, another 3DS RPG slated to be released some time next year in the West. The representatives of Treehouse state that there are two versions of the game: Birthright, in which the player's avatar sides with the kingdom of Hoshido, and Conquest, in which the player sides with the nation of Nohr. They are not clear, however, as to whether Fates will have two retail versions, like with the Japanese release, as they emphasize the player's choice of kingdom by chapter six. The first video shows an early part of the game, as well as the My Castle mechanic. The second video features the seventh chapter of the Conquest path.

Genei Ibun Roku #FE (the "#" is pronounced "sharp") is the joint Nintendo and Atlus project formerly known as Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. This Wii U game is slated for a 2016 release in North America. In the beginning of the demo, Treehouse explains that while the game has long been described as a mash-up of the two franchises, it is really its own title that draws features and aspects from both. They also go into details on the story and world, explore a dungeon, and show off the combat system.

Much like Bravely Second, LBX: Little Battlers eXperience was announced during the miniature Direct on June 1. This game was developed by Level-5 and will be released in North America on August 21 of this year. This video mostly focuses on the customization of the little robots and on combat.

Up next, three Treehouse representatives play through a few dungeons in The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. This spiritual successor to The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure will be released in Q4 2015. In both videos, the three do their best to cooperate to solve puzzles in order to advance and to defeat enemies. Mostly though, they show how careful players need to be with the shared heart meter.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, due out worldwide in early 2016, is a 3DS title that combines the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario games. In this demonstration, the folks at Treehouse briefly explain how the paper characters arrived in the world of Mario & Luigi before showing off the gameplay. They fight some regular battles, beat a boss, and search for some lost paper Toads. At the end, they engage in a Papercraft Battle, in which the brothers ride a giant paper model of Mario to fight large papercraft Goombas.

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon is the latest entry in this Pokémon spin-off series. In this video, they show the selection process for both the player's Pokémon avatar and his or her partner. They also go through an early portion of the game where the partner meets the partner for the first time and explore two dungeons. Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon is slated for release in Q4 2015 in North America and the first half of 2016 in Europe.

Next are two videos that feature Treehouse playing through an early English demo of Xenoblade Chronicles X, due out in North America on December 4 of this year. In the first, longer video, Tetsuya Takahasi of Monolith Soft explains various aspects and design choices of the game. In both videos, Treehouse explores New Los Angeles and various locales outside the city, takes on some missions, and shows off the battle system. The second video focuses on the giant robots called Skells and also includes a few minutes of English audio from the game, which starts at about 16:07.

The last video is for Yo-kai Watch, a very popular series in Japan whose first game will finally be released in North America this holiday season (and some time next year for Europe). During this demonstration, the player character Nate walks through his town, uses radar to find the titular Yo-Kai, battles them, and attempts to befriend them.
