The next digital expansion for BioWare Austin's MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic has been announced. Knights of the Fallen Empire will be released on October 27, 2015, with all paying subscribers receiving the expansion for free.

Knights of the Fallen Empire sees the player character ascending to the title of the Outlander while the galaxy faces a new threat in form the of the Emperor of the Eternal Throne. The expansion will see the game's level raise to 65, with players given the option to create a new character starting a level 60 and jump straight into the content with them. Nine chapters of the expansion's story will be released at first, with others released at regular intervals afterwards. The cinematic trailer for the expansion can be viewed below.
