The prices for Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, a director's cut for Dark Souls II, have been announced. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will cost $59.99. On Steam, the game will cost $39.99 for DirectX9 and $49.99 for DirectX11. Those who already own the DirectX9 version on Steam can upgrade to DirectX11 for $29.99. Any owners who also have all of the DLC can instead upgrade for $19.99.

Scholar of the First Sin will be available at retail and for download on the PS4 and Xbox One on April 7, 2015. It will be available on Steam on April 1. Update patches released in February for the PlayStation 3, Steam, and Xbox 360 versions have already added certain content such as new NPCs, changed item descriptions, and improved online performance and game balance. Other enhancements such graphics, sound, and performance upgrades, new weapons and armors, new enemy placements, new map shortcuts, a new NPC invading the player's world, and an increase in the maximum number of online players are only available in the upcoming PS4, Xbox One, and DirectX11 Steam versions of the game.
