The Pokémon Company has just released an Eiffel Tower's worth of information and assets for Pokemon X/Y. The game takes place in the Kalos region, a star-shaped area which is loosely based on France. This gives the architecture of the region, notably that of the capital, Lumiose City, a European flair that hasn't been seen before in the Pokémon universe.
Four new Pokémon have also been revealed. Helioptile is a normal/electric Pokémon that resembles a frilled lizard. Pancham is a mischevious fighting-type panda Pokémon. Fletchling is the requisite normal/flying songbird, and Gogoat is a grass-type that doubles as a new mode of transportation. There will be plenty of old and new Pokémon to catch in Kalos, so many that the Pokédex is being divided into three distinct regions.
