It's not a remake, sequel, or spin-off of a Final Fantasy game; it is a completely original RPG coming to the DS. Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, a new, but classic-looking RPG, will debut in North America on Oct 5, 2010. It will retail for $34.99 and is rated E10+ by the ESRB.

Players take on the role of 14 year old Brandt, a youth from the kingdom of Horne. He arrives at the castle on his birthday to present himself to the king only to find out the princess has been kidnapped by the Witch of the North. As is custom in a Japanese RPG, Brandt is the only hope for saving her, so he and his friends Jusqua, Unita, and Aire venture forth to save her.
Combat is based around Action Points where players select an action and the character AI will use the attack deemed needed for the situation. Players can customize their characters via the Crown Job System. Over twenty-four jobs are available and can be mixed and matched to create a desired build. There is also a local multiplayer mode where up to four players can work together to save the world. For more details, check out the official site and stay tuned to RPGamer for more info.
