Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep will be available in North America on September 7, 2010. Birth by Sleep is a prequel to the main Kingdom Hearts games, showing the beginning of the series' overarching storyline. Players will experience the story from the viewpoint of the game's three main characters: Terra, Ventus and Aqua.

Birth by Sleep will be featured in a limited edition bundle called the "KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep PSP Entertainment Pack". The bundle will feature the game, a silver PSP, a yet-unannounced movie (which will not be related to Kingdom Hearts), and a four gigabyte memory stick. The bundle will be available for $199.99 USD at GameStop.
