Six months after the game's release, BioWare appears to be keeping its promise to release regular downloadable content for Dragon Age: Origins. The next DLC pack will be titled Darkspawn Chronicles, and gives players a chance to experience the DA:O story from the dark side.
Darkspawn Chronicles presents a "what-if" scenario in which instead of becoming a Grey Warden, the player dies during the Joining ceremony. Transformed into a hurlock emissary, the player fights as one of the Darkspawn against Alistair's Grey Wardens. Being a Darkspawn has its privileges, as the player will be able to enthrall and command lesser Darkspawn such as genlocks, hurlocks, shrieks, and ogres.
The Darkspawn Chronicles DLC will be available for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on May 18th. It will cost 400 BioWare points, 400 Microsoft points, or $4.99 on the PlayStation Network. Completing the DLC storyline will net the player an epic darkspawn item that can be used in the regular Dragon Age: Origins campaign or its expansion, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening.
