Not too long ago, Final Fantasy VII and VIII were released on the PSN, first in Japan and then North America. Yet, fans have been wondering when the last, and arguably the best, PS1 Final Fantasy would be available for download.

It would appear that the wait may soon be over. Square Enix announced, via Twitter, that Final Fantasy IX would become available on the PSN in Japan. No further details were given at this time. However, if history is an indicator, we can hope that an announcement regarding North America release will be forthcoming in the near future.
