Until recently, a title known only as Aliens RPG was in development by Obsidian Entertainment. The game was based off of the popular franchise that began with the 1979 film Alien.

Rumors have been circulating about the fate of Aliens RPG for quite some time now. Late last week, an administrator known as The Guildmaster on the game's official forums confirmed the title's cancellation. The Guildmaster posts: "Unfortunately, it is true that we are no longer working on the game, and we wanted to finally announce that officially to everyone who has been following its development." Obsidian Entertainment still has an ace up its sleeve, with their espionage action RPG Alpha Protocol set for North American release in October 2009.
