During its E3 Media Briefing and afterward through media press releases, Nintendo unveiled a slate of RPGs for the remainder of the year for the Wii, DS, and GameBoy Advance. There were also, despite the coming of its next generation home console, three RPGs included in the list for the GameCube.

The list of new games includes:

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Wii (Wii, Q4 2006) The next entry in the epic Legend of Zelda series is coming to the GameCube and the Wii. The Wii version will make full use of the motion sensitive controller. Read more details here.

Fire Emblem (Wii, Release TBA) Nintendo showed a movie sequence featuring the tenth game in its strategy RPG series, Fire Emblem. The movies showed a heavy anime influence, and one of the released pieces of character artwork bears a striking resemblance to an older Sothe, a character from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

Super Paper Mario (GameCube, Q4 2006) Done by Intelligent Systems, a new version of Paper Mario is on the way to the GameCube. Unlike the earlier two games in the series, Super Paper Mario plays out more like an action RPG with heavy platforming elements, all while retaining the 2D paper-thin style. Both Peach and Bowser will return as playable characters.

Chibi Robo: Park Patrol (DS, Release TBA) The robotic helper gets a sequel for the DS. This time Chibi Robo departs the household that was the site of his first game and ventures outside into the wide world for more spreading of happiness.

Aside from the new game announcements, Nintendo also revealed North American release timeframes and dates for previously announced games. These games are:

Baten Kaitos Origins (GameCube, September 25) Released in Japan as Baten Kaitos II, Baten Kaitos Origins is a prequel to 2004's GameCube RPG. The game will take place twenty years earlier and it will tell the story of Sagi and his friends as they witness Emperor Geldoblame's rise to power.

Magical Vacation 2 (DS, Q4 2006) Magical Vacation 2, the sequel to a Game Boy Advance action RPG which never received a US localization, was developed by Brownie Brown. The game featured 2D sprites and stylus controls as students of magic seek to rescue their teacher.

Pokemon's Mysterious Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Pokemon's Mysterious Dungeon: Red Rescue Team (Blue DS & Red GBA, September 18) In Pokemon's Mysterious Dungeon, players take control of a Pokemon itself for the first time ever. The player will be tasked with rescuing the captured Pokemon from randomly generated dungeons.
