Interplay Talks Gaming Future

Interplay

In a conference call to investors, Interplay CEO Herve Caen revealed a few tasty bits of information concerning future Fallout and Dark Alliance titles. Due to a change in their licensing agreement, fans can expect a lot of change in the future titles in each respective series.

Originally Interplay had traded their rights to Dungeons & Dragons titles to be able to develop Dark Alliance titles for consoles. But due to the forementioned change in their licensing agreement, all Dungeons & Dragons related themes shall be nowhere to be seen in future Dark Alliance games. Along with that, the next Dark Alliance title will take place in an Interplay-developed universe, rather than the Baldur's Gate universe of previous games. Also mentioned was the development of a new console Fallout title. No specifics were given, other than it will not be a sequel to Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

Caen was quoted as saying that the current projects are expected to ship in 2004 and 2005. We'll provide you with more information regarding these games as it comes in.
