Bethesda Softworks has announced that it will be releasing a new version of Morrowind for the
Xbox called Morrowind Game of the Year Edition. This new version will include both the original game,
as well as content from both the recent expansions, Tribunal and Bloodmoon. In addition, current players of the
previous Morrowind won't need to restart their games to make use of the new additions, as they can simply load up the
expansions and continue their quests. This ability to continue within expansions for a currently existing product is
rather unique in the console market, even though it has existed for years on PC.
The original Morrowind for Xbox was released during 2002 and featured a brand of open-ended gameplay which allowed
players to explore the world at their leisure. With the addition of the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions, players will
be able to travel to both the capital city of Morrowind, called Mournhold, where they will meet the god-kings of Morrowind,
and the frozen northern island of Solstheim, where they will be able to interact with the island's colony and explore
the plague of werewolves that have been terrorizing the islanders. Morrowind Game of the Year Edition is scheduled for
release this fall.
