JoWood To Display Gothic 2 At E3

JoWood Software, the developers behind last year's PC title Gothic, will be featuring that title's sequel at this year's E3 exhibition. The German-based development house announced it would be showcasing the title through the "uber-administrator" of the company's message boards, whose online moniker is Plex. This is welcome news to fans of the first title, since information surrounding the game to this point has been vague and difficult to confirm. The first public demonstration of the title should allay the fears of those who may be worried the game will not see the light of day for one reason or another.

Another announcement regarding Gothic II also came recently when Swiss news outlet gamesweb.com revealed the game's website will launch May 22. Gamers truly devoted to the series can slake their thirst for details about the sequel at the message forums, which are already up at the site.

Currently, there is no word on whether the E3 showing will presage an announcement of a North American release. Currently, Gothic 2 is slated for German release in October 2002.
